My red string broke today:( also known as a kalava which translates to ``above all``. It is worn for and symbolizes blessings to the wearer. It also can be used in different rituals of worship (or "puja") to Hindu deities, and can be considered as goodwill to a person who offers it to another. The thread can be referred to as "raksha" or "rakhi" in a ceremony where a sister ties it onto her brother's wrist. The brother wears it as a sign of his sister's love and wishes for protection. It was very special to me and kind of feel naked without it will prob get sometrhing to wear on that wrist in the meantime till i get another one. I find the hindu religion to be very interesting not a very religious person myself but with Easter comng up i suppose it all comes with the package. My sister was very curious why people eat pickled fish on good friday so i had to find an answer...in the bible theres a verse which states:Luke 24 36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” 40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.
Was such a busy day sho and cant seem to sleep at all. The traffic department closed at 12am because of all the public holidays that was abit of a damper of the day otherwise its the Two Oceans marathon this weekend which my parents will be running they`re fast asleep. Running is such a great way to release stress and get fit used to love if but after i trained for the Oceans about two years ago got out of the routine and it faded away hope to get back into it soon:) So its Easter this weekend nice long weekend for all of you with Monday to Friday jobs oh the joys. Was blessed with some stationary from my mom today oh so happy getting back into my drawing again and really needed colour pencils too... My black and red were completly finished from my last drawing, was pretty stoked to find a range of Artline Markers in assorted colours same kind of result as one would get from using Posca Pens which pretty much can be used on most surfaces and are permanant. They can even be used on surfboards which is pretty rad is you would like to do your own designs on your board rather than go through the whole painting and sealing process...! Made a trip to Goodwood tonight to see my Bestie Lusi shes busy studing fashon design in Pretoria pretty stoked shes down for the weekend,iv missed her so much. Was helping her out with afew designs so didnt really get much time to catch up looking forward to her staying over for the weekend. Its tedious studyng anything to do with design as one has to permanantly have new ideas and perfection comes with the package as well as there being areas where one needs to grow for their work to reach its full potentiol takes alot of time too... It takes years to become known in the industry unless you come up with something thats grasped my the public immediatly. I came across this great sight similiar to Gumtree but instead of people selling their unwanted goods the site supports designers who have now been able to gain exposure too through the site and over time if they gained success started making a livining out of what they love doing. It would be great to have something like this locally, its an international sight calles Etsy here are afew designers which i really admire as well as some pictorial evidence of my day:)
